King Charles III was proclaimed the new British monarch on 10 September 2022 following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. At the age of 96, Queen Elizabeth was the country’s longest-reigning monarch, serving as head of state for more than 70 years. Charles the former Prince of Wales ascended the throne by virtue of being the Queen’s eldest son. Britain has now changed the national anthem back to “Long Live the King”, replacing the old national anthem “Long Live the Queen”.

Charles succeeds on the throne immediately after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. 9th September. CHARLES, Prince of Wales, made his first address to the nation as King from Balmoral Estate in Scotland following the tragic death of Queen Elizabeth II. . Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully at her beloved Balmoral Castle in Scotland. He paid tribute to the queen as both mother and monarch and pledged his lifelong service.

Charles III he is the longest-serving heir apparent in British history, having assumed the role at the age of three when his mother became queen in 1952. King Charles III. now he fulfills his royal destiny and rules as a monarch. At 73, he is the oldest monarch to ascend the throne in British history.

King Charles III walked alongside his siblings Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward as he attended Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin service at the Palace of Westminster.

During the ceremony, he donned the Field Marshall baton, decorated with Queen’s Service Medals, the Canadian Forces Medal, the New Zealand Commemorative Medal, the New Zealand Armed Forces Medal, along with the Order of Merit, a total of about 10 medals. Queen Elizabeth II. was kept in the memorial chapel of King George VI. at Windsor on 19 September 2022.

Early life

Charles was born on 14 November 1948, the eldest son of the then Princess Elizabeth, Duchess of Edinburgh, and Philip, Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace during the reign of his maternal grandfather George VI. He has three siblings, Anne, Andrew, and Edward. His real name is Charles Philip Arthur George Mountbatten-Windsor.

Charles attended school and made history as the only heir to the throne to go to school. He went to Cambridge University and received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees, making him the first heir apparent to receive a university degree.

King Charles III is a trained armed forces pilot and served in the Royal Air Force. He also trained in the Royal Naval and joined the Naval Air Squadron following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather, and two of his grandfathers in the Royal Navy.

King Charles is one of the UK’s most successful living artists. He began painting in 1970 under the tutelage of his art master, Robert Waddell, at the Gordonstoun School in Scotland. first exhibited his painting at Windsor Castle in 1977. Royal paintings were inspired by landscapes and watercolor paintings. Profits from his art were donated to charities.

King Charles III also has musical talent, he plays the piano, trumpet, and cello. He played in school choirs and became the first heir to do so. He also played cello in the Cambridge University Orchestra and became a patron of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in Cambridge.

King Charles III, a true artist, also wrote a children’s book called “The Old Man of Lochnagar”. He also has a keen interest in urban planning, and architecture both traditional and modern, and built an entire town called Poundbury in Dorchester, England.

King Charles III, is also a climate activist and has been promoting environmental awareness since 1970. To reduce the carbon footprint, he uses biodiesel cars and electric cars. He is interested in organic farming and has developed his own organic brand Duchy Originals. It is involved in the production of various sustainable products from food, mineral water, and medicine to garden furniture. Also produces whiskey, Barrogil brand. Profits are donated to Prince’s charities.

Charles first married Lady Diana Spencer in 1981. They had two children, William born on 21 June 1982, and Henry born on 15 September 1984. He legally separated and divorced Lady Diana in 1996. Tragically, Diana was killed a year later in a car accident in Paris Charles flew to Paris to bring her body back to Britain, something the late Queen initially did not agree to. Princess Diana’s funeral took place on 6 September 1997 and the Union Flag atop Buckingham Palace was flown at half-mast. The ceremony was attended by about two thousand people and watched by about 2.5 million people worldwide. Both Harry and William, along with their father Prince Charles, walked alongside their mother’s coffin as it traveled from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Cathedral. Diana was eventually buried at Althorp, her family’s estate in Northampton shire, England.

Charles is now married to Camilla Parker Bowles, whom he first met at a polo match in 1970 and was romantically involved with until the prince left to serve in the Royal Navy. This was their second wedding for both Charles and Camilla, so instead of a church wedding, a civil ceremony took place at Windsor Guildhall on 9 April 2005.

New Titles

The title of the new King is King Charles III. This was the first decision of the new king’s reign, he could have chosen from any of his four names – Charles Philip Arthur George.

When Charles became king, his wife Camilla received the title Queen Consort. Queen Elizabeth left her consent for Camila given the title “Queen Consort”.

William as the eldest son became the heir apparent to the British throne and received the titles: Duke of Cornwall, Duke of Rothesay, Prince of Wales, and Earl of Chester. Prince William’s wife Catherine Middleton also gets the new title Princess of Wales. Wales gets their new Princess which was last held by Princess Diana. Williamand Catherine married in 2011 and the couple has three children- Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Henry Charles Albert David (Harry) youngest son of King Charles III is married to Meghan Markle. They separated from the royal family in January 2020 and moved to California.  The couple has two children, Archie and Lilibet. Charles III hasn’t made the decision yet if his grandchildren will be given the titles of Prince and Princess.

Coronation of King Charles III

The coronation of the King is not announced yet but will not come until later this year. King Charles III is planning for a smaller, shorter, and less expensive coronation.  Queen Elizabeth II coronationwas held a year later after her accession to the throne at the age of 25 when her father, King George VI, died. Likely the Kings coronation ceremony will be held at London’s Westminster Abbey, a place for coronation ceremonies for the past 900 years. The Westminster Abbey, the historic church is also where Queen’s funeral was held on September 19.
